This April will be about the stunning wine range from the Piedmont icon Bruno Giacosa.

Bruno Giacosa is without a doubt one of the greatest producers of Barbaresco and Barolo. For the most passionate wine lovers Giacosa’s wines are the most compelling and emotional wines you can find not only in Piedmont but all over the world. He is a legend and his wines are simply masterpieces. He is the only producer in Barbaresco that received the perfect score of 100 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate for one of his wines. Few producers in the world can rival Bruno Giacosa. Not only for the statute of his work, but also for the number of outstanding wines he has made and continues to produce. Bruno Giacosa will be remembered for his keen ability to recognize the best growing sites for Nebbiolo, Barbera and the other great grapes of Piedmont.

Bruno started bottling single vineyard Barolos and Barbarescos with the name of the cru on the label. In 1982, he bought the spectacular Falletto vineyard in Barolo; in 1996, portions of Asili and Rabajà. In 1990, legendary oenologist Dante Scaglione joined the team; he left for a short time in 2008 but then came back in 2011. Single vineyard and estate bottled wines of the very highest quality are increasingly becoming Giacosa’s main focus. Grapes coming from top sites - typically prime south-facing vineyards at high elevation (400 metres) - are farmed ‘simply but with more care’.
