Ogier

Ogier was originally established in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in 1859 as a négociant. They would buy grapes from local producers and make the wines. Ogier operated as a négociant for many years until the 1990s, when it was purchased by JeanJean, a large producer from the Languedoc, who had then purchased Clos de l'Oratoire, a premium Châteauneuf-du-Pape domaine. Today, the Ogier brand remains as a négociant who works alongside Clos de l'Oratoire. In 2011, Ogier launched a series of Châteauneufs which are soil-focused. These wines express the terroir of various parts of the region - Galets Roulés - those infamous rolled stones; Safres – fresh, compressed sand; Grès Rouges - iron-rich red sandstone; and Eclats Calcaires - porous limestone.
